“Visions of Warriors” will be screening online for the Kern County Library from Monday, 6/29/2020 to Tuesday, 7/14/2020. A Q&A with director Ming Lai will be held on Wednesday, 7/15/2020. The Q&A will be recorded and available after the event. The mission of the Kern County Library is “to build community and cultivate opportunities for Kern County residents, by connecting people, ideas, information, and technology.” They offer Veterans Resource Centers at their Beale Memorial Library, Kern River Valley Library, and Ridgecrest Branch Library. This special event is a part of the California Center for the Book’s “Community Conversations with Veterans” initiative, which is a partnership between the California Center for the Book and Veterans Connect @ the Library. The program offers California libraries the opportunity to connect more closely with veterans and their families, while also helping veterans and their families connect to the community and resources. California Center for the Book is a program of the California Library Association, supported in whole or in part by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian. Thank you to Julianna Robbins, the California Center for the Book, Ashley Clay, Charissa Wagner, and the Kern County Library for this great opportunity.
