In observance of Memorial Day, “Visions of Warriors” will be screening online for the Azusa City Library from Monday, 5/25/2020 to Monday, 6/8/2020. There will be a Q&A with director Ming Lai, moderated by Jennifer Agnew of the library, on Tuesday, 6/9/2020 at 1:00 p.m. The Q&A will be recorded and available afterward. To help veterans obtain their benefits, the library has a Veterans Resource Center. It’s also involved with the Veterans History Project, whose mission is to “collect, preserve, and make accessible the personal accounts of American war veterans so that future generations may hear directly from veterans and better understand the realities of war.” The screening and Q&A are a part of "Community Conversations with Veterans,” a partnership between California Center for the Book and Veterans Connect @ the Library. The initiative offers California libraries the opportunity to connect more closely with veterans and their families, while also helping veterans and their families connect to the community and resources. California Center for the Book is a program of the California Library Association, supported in whole or in part by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
