We’re thrilled to announce that “Visions of Warriors” will be screening at the San Francisco Veterans Film Festival on Sunday, 11/4/18 at 2:16 p.m.. We’re deeply honored to screen our film at this growing festival in anticipation of Veterans Day. Because the film was made in the Bay Area, we’re excited to be able to share it with this vibrant community. According to its site, the “San Francisco Veterans Film Festival is a robust forum for active duty, Veterans and civilian filmmakers to express their creativity and to share their stories, which in turn helps further healing and brings greater awareness to the public on the challenges our nation’s Veterans face.” The festival is organized by One Vet One Voice, a comprehensive resource for veterans regarding VA benefits and services. The screening will take place at the stately San Francisco Public Library / Main Library in their Koret Auditorium. “VISIONS OF WARRIORS” TO SCREEN AT THE L.A. PUBLIC LIBRARY / MEMORIAL BRANCH LIBRARY

“Visions of Warriors” will be screening at the L.A. Public Library / Memorial Branch Library on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. in celebration of the upcoming Veterans Day. We are deeply honored to work with the L.A. Public Library again to celebrate Veterans Day. The Memorial Branch Library has a rich history. The land on which it is located was deeded by Los Angeles High School to the City of Los Angeles in 1923 to honor twenty alumni who died while serving in WWI. The Gothic Revival-style library was built in 1930 and designed by John C. Austin, who was the lead architect of the Griffith Observatory. The students of L.A. High School commissioned the renowned Judson Studios to create a beautiful stained glass window with the names of the twenty alumni and an inscription, “Peace Among Nations.” The library is listed on the the National Register of Historic Places. Thank you to Deborah Matthews, Loren Spector, Eugene Owens, and the L.A. Public Library for organizing this special event!

“Visions of Warriors” will be screening at the American Art Therapy Association’s 49th Annual Conference / Art Therapy Short Film Festival in Miami, Florida on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. We’re deeply honored to work with the respected American Art Therapy Association. We’re excited to announce that the San Diego Public Library and their Veterans Resource Center, funded by the California State Library's Veterans Connect @ the Library program, will be screening “Visions of Warriors” on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at their Central Public Library / Neil Morgan Auditorium. We’re deeply honored to present our film with the expansive library and their Veterans Resource Center and share it with San Diego’s thriving military and veteran communities as well as the public. Opened in September 2013, the state-of-the-art Central Library with its beautiful Neil Morgan Auditorium in the heart of downtown San Diego is a vital resource for the entire region. The California Library Association recognized this location as the most used Veterans Resource Center in the entire state. We’re thrilled to screen our film in such an incredible venue. HUMANIST FILMS EDITS A VIDEO FOR PELICAN PRODUCTS ABOUT WARRIOR EXPEDITIONS

We were deeply honored to work with Pelican Products, editing a video that showcases Warrior Expeditions, a non-profit veterans organization. According to their site, they “provide veterans with everything they need to complete a long distance outdoor expedition at no cost to the veteran.” In the video, retired Navy SEAL Jonathan Grant explains that the organization “helps support veterans, combat veterans, give them an opportunity to do a through-hike and to experience what they call as ‘nature therapy,’ give them an opportunity to decompress, to hit the reset button, and another term they use is ‘walking off the war.’” Thank you to Pelican Products, Kevin Murphy, Hank Chacon, and Tuan Tran for this wonderful opportunity!

“JOURNEY OF A PAPER SON” TO SCREEN AT THE CHINESE-AMERICAN MUSEUM OF CHICAGO

We’re excited to announce that our short film, “Journey of a Paper Son,” will be screening at the Chinese-American Museum of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois on Saturday, 5/26/18, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Central Daylight Time. “Journey of a Paper Son” is about a father who reveals to his family that he’s a “paper son” (an illegal immigrant using fake papers). The film was an Official Selection of a dozen national film festivals. It won the Best Short Film Gold Angel Award at the Chinese American Film Festival. According to its site, the mission of the Chinese-American Museum of Chicago is to “promote the culture and history—through exhibitions, education, and research—of Chinese-Americans in the Midwest.” Thank you to Executive Director Mabel Menard and the museum for this huge honor.

The Colorado Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association will be screening “Visions of Warriors” at Windhorse Community Services in Boulder, Colorado on Tuesday, 5/1/18 at 5:45 p.m. The Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association (PRA) and in particular the Colorado PRA (COPRA) have been great supporters of our documentary. We had the huge honor of screening our film at PRA’s 40th Annual Wellness and Recovery Summit in Atlanta last year. Since then, COPRA has also screened our film in Denver. We’re excited to screen our film again in Colorado at Windhorse Community Services, which offers home-based treatment recovery options to the residents of Boulder.
